Trump doesn’t have a choice. He spoke of the unfairness and problems too many times. Even Dems have been using his lack of action to wallop him over the head. Ironic considering the Democratic Party’s more preeminent role in causing the problem, but nonetheless they can do it to demoralize his base. It’s very simple data. It’s even shared here by commenters. There’s no way to talk himself out of being president and come 2020 have the trade deficit be so high and US tariffs so low.

Nice to have what seems to be a sane TAI post, from Sean. Forgive me for being overly skeptical about why China trade issues show up at TAI on Dec. 5. The “succession of harmful leaks and rumors about” SecState Tillerson are an obvious effort by bi-partisan Neo-con NeverTrumpers joining with the Wilsonian Progressives trying to trash TeamTrump on foreign policy. It was enlightening to read/ listen to Andrea Mitchell, and the Associated Press duo of Matt Lee and Josh Lederman at the State Department’s Press Briefing on Nov. 28 2017, https://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/dpb/2017/11/276035.htm (Minute 15:45 to 44:48 of 51:43 on the official YouTube which should be studied at Journalism schools) abusing twenty-nine (29) of the fifty-two (52) minutes testing the talking points to be handed off to everyone else in what passes for media/punditry in America, circa 2017. I did not waste time past the headlines Nov. 29-Dec 4, after reading Politico’s version. The Nov. 30 DPB was less brazen after [Minute 19:14], when State’s Spokesperson got my vote for Quote of the Year:

MS NAUERT: I’m sure I’m not following your question. Are you suggesting that the only conversations that take place between world leaders is on Twitter? https://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/dpb/2017/11/276085.htm Department Press Briefing – November 30, 2017 2:57 p.m. EST https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYw9nVPfZEQ stunning the room, and opening the Q&A to newcomer to the DPB, Marek Walkuski, Polish Public Radio, asking a serious question about a Real Issue.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for the mythic (blood and soil) nationalist team to magically appear. It is more likely that America will devolve into too many people working too many hours to bother reading anything except Singapore’s Straits Times while listening to Polish Public Radio, looking forward to the next Bollywood film. Much better scripts.
