    The author misunderstands.

You don’t actually have to take significant action on the environment. All you have to do is virtue signal, slam the USA, sign meaningless treaties, and promise future actions that will never happen.

    • Gary Hemminger

just as we do here in California. virtue signal, build trains to nowhere, pronounce droughts everylasting when they end the year after you pronounce them everlasting, and don’t build any new infrastructure for water storage. Absolutely the worst leaders ever. They are only topped in lunacy by one other group…the people that elect them. Mainly a bunch of poor people who think that these policies somehow help them.

    • Boritz

As post says as Germany has taken significant action on the environment by burning more coal. Even that’s OK as long as you do the rest of the things you list.

      • Angel Martin

They remind me of the Ontario Liberal Party. They got elected in 2003 and promised to immediately close the Nanticoke power station, which was a monster coal fired electrical generator, at the time the single largest pollution source in North America.

They refused to spend money on emissions control since it would be closed immediately.

It was finally taken off line in 2013.

Germans being a$$holes and hypocrites? I’m just so surprised by that. This is my surprised face.

      “RE is massively unsustainable”

      According to its competition?

Are you actually too stupid to understand why your source has a conflict of interest?

“Anthony Watts was a speaker at the Heartland Institute’s 7th International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC7). DeSmogBlog researched the co-sponsors behind Heartland’s ICCC7 and found that they had collectively received over $67 million from ExxonMobil, the Koch Brothers and the conservative Scaife family foundations.”

Expensive electricity generated by alternative sources is already costing some people their jobs and forcing others into energy poverty. It’s true a crime against humanity.

“Some relevant excerpts of the article noting that the German energy policy is being carried out on the backs of those who can least afford it, the poor, the old, the dispossessed.”
