Russia Wakes Up and Smells the Shale

It’s sad to see how much Russia’s ability to conduct technology has
fallen. They have plenty of technical academics to formulate fracking
fluids, no environmental barriers that the inside companies have to
follow, and people who can work hard in super frozen wilderness. Stalin
said “Quantity has a Quality all it’s own” where are the T34 tank
drills? Yet they are reduced to suckering trans nat companies to invest
and have the play stolen by Russian courts when it appears
successful. It’s Exxon’s fault, they know what is going to happen but
$300 mil is peanuts- don’t gamble if you can’t afford to loose.

Just out of curiosity, has the seasonal ice cover in the Kara Sea changed in recent history?
