Of course China is going to throw its weight around. What did anyone expect? I imagine they will erect their own version of the Monroe Doctrine in the South China Seas, and I hope we are not foolish enough to go to war with them in an effort to prevent it. After centuries of humiliation China wants a little respect. Can you blame them?

There are many ways to earn respect, but aggressive militarism, manipulation of the currency or hacking into the office and records of foreign governments isn’t on the list

It’s not really a surprise that China is trying to bully its neighbours. Expansionism has been a Chinese policy for centuries, regardless of what regime China was under. It’s a danger that we in the west must recognize.
