I’m heading back to the UK tonight for some meetings and a conference.  I should be back on Sunday March 4. The Bard students are enjoying a week away from class, tempered only by the thought of the makeup classes that lie ahead. The staff at Via Meadia is working with me to make sure that our coverage doesn’t break down while I am on the road.

The new system has been up and running for a couple of weeks now, and while there are still a few kinks to iron out, Via Meadia is working to add features, improve the look and feel of the site and build up our coverage of important world events and trends, all without sacrificing the essays that first drew many of you to the site and which continue to engage me.  I’m hoping to have the next beyond blue post up in the next couple of days and thanks to the miracles of email and Skype will be in close touch with Team Mead from overseas.

We’ve been having a few days of a delightful early Spring here. Please don’t bring Winter with you.

Hope the flight to the UK goes well! The new and updated sight gets a thumbs up. I suspect at times I can hear the different New York bureaus talking but the mesh seems to be working alright.

May I recommend St John (on St John Street, near Smithfield) esp for the Eccles cake with Lancashire cheese; the Crown, just a bit north on Clerkenwell green (next to the Marx Memorial Library) for the Sunday roast and then a stroll through lovely park behind St James church) and also the Fox and Anchor on Charterhouse St, also lovely English food (yes it can be) and a noble assortment of genuine ales, after which a stroll around Charterhouse, through Cloth Fair, a visit to St Bart’s and then St John’s Square is highly recommended.
