Russia Cracks Down on Foreign Media Ownership

The Russian parliament voted nearly unanimously to cap foreign ownership of Russian media at 20 percent, which will, among other things, force the sale or closure of many magazines and newspapers. Putin’s strategy of stirring up anti-foreign sentiment predates the Ukraine conflict, but it’s certainly paying off for him now.
