Being There: A Slice of U.S.-Israeli Relations
Will the West Mobilize to Defend Itself?
Andrew A. Michta
Good evening, listeners! We have a must-listen show for you this week, as our host Richard Aldous speaks with Dennis Ross about the U.S.-Israel relationship under President Obama before turning to Andrew A. Michta to discuss last week’s atrocity in Paris.
First, counselor and Davidson Distinguished Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy Dennis Ross makes his debut appearance to examine and contextualize the current relationship between the United States and Israel. He provides unique insight on the peace process, sharing his experience as a special assistant to President Obama during his first term.
We then once again welcome professor of national security affairs at the U.S. Naval War College and adjunct fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies Andrew A. Michta to the show to discuss the West’s options for responding to the attacks in France last Friday. He makes the case that the West must counter-strike, and that such an endeavor will likely require the deployment of ground forces.
