This is why government should be limited — to reserve money for real priorities that are the proper purview of government.

The idea that government should do everything, is the enemy here.

Hoboken is a corrupt, little Democratic controlled city. It’s also pretty wealthy since it has been yuppified.

    Go Ducks!

  • FriendlyGoat

Gee, I thought government raising and spending money to keep up the municipal infrastructure ACTUALLY IS “the blue model” which is always griped about here.

There’s an old joke in Libertarian circles, or a family of jokes, all of which end the same way: “But who will build the roads?!” I would call that the punchline, but I don’t think that’s quite accurate – in fact, you’re the punchline.

      • FriendlyGoat

Libertarian circles are a bit of a joke in themselves. True “libertarianism” is not really in control anywhere and would not work if it were.

        • Enemy Leopard

That Libertarians are terminally unserious doesn’t make them wrong about everything – or everyone. In any case, I’m not persuaded that you’ve fully grasped the point of the joke.

          • FriendlyGoat

I’m not convinced there is a joke—-except as clouded by the views of certain circles. This all sounds like the usual criticism I receive for being a liberal in conservative places.

I agree, BTW, that Libertarians are “terminally unserious”, which is why I wonder why they pursue platitude nonsense with such vigor.

Thank you for the clarification. I’m now certain that you don’t get the joke.

          • FriendlyGoat

Of course not. It’s a private hoot for Libertarians, and I’m not one.
