Via Meadia Is Looking for Interns

With the current crop of Via Meadia interns moving on, we’re looking for the next batch of ambitious young people to help us research and write for the site. Former interns have gone on to jobs in journalism, tech startups, the State Department and the US military, and have gotten their own clips at The American Interest and at other venerable publications while working at Via Meadia.

This is a great opportunity for aspiring writers. Interns receive training from Walter Russell Mead and staff, participate in our daily editorial calls, and are intimately involved in helping the blog stay abreast of the ever-churning news cycle. You will get a broad and unique perspective on issues shaping the world, and help us figure out new and innovative ways to help communicate these trends to an ever-growing audience.

We are currently looking for interns based in Washington, DC. The ideal candidates would be recent graduates of a politics, journalism, economics or history program who are looking to sharpen their writing skills and gain a deeper knowledge of global affairs. Interns are expected to contribute at least four days per week, although schedules can be flexible. You will need to have a laptop. The position will begin in late Summer and will run through December. All internship positions are unpaid.
