Mead On The Road

Posting may be a little irregular during the next few days.  I am leaving for the UK today, returning at the end of the week. While there I will be giving a talk in the Old Library of All Souls College (Oxford) on American power in the 21st century.  The talk is at 8:30 PM on Wednesday of this week; I understand there is a £2 entry fee for non-members of the Oxford University Strategic Studies Group.

The team back home will endeavor to keep the blog fires burning while I am on the road, and I will be checking in and checking up from time to time.

WRM, the shape of American power in 21st century (America’ grand strategy in a world at risk) ought to be entertaining presentation at Oxford.

I hope the event will be recorded. Will it?

On second thought WRM, “America’s Grand Strategy In A World At Risk” will be an excellent subtext to American power in 21st century as presented at Old Library of All Souls College.

Any chance of putting up audio files of Prof. Mead’s talks?

  • Peter Mellgard

Unfortunately the All Souls talk won’t be recorded. Oxford’s Strategic Studies Group prefers the Chatham House rule. But some of Prof. Mead’s recent speeches are available online:
    – Bloggingheads:
    – Hudson Institute:
For future on-the-record talks, we’ll post videos to the blog.

Just don’t call it a game.

    Luke@6: “Just don’t call it a game.”

I used to call it a game, but then i took an arrow to the eye.

How can you come to Oxford, but not also stop at Cambridge? We Cantabrigians could use a dose of WRM wisdom too!

    • Walter Russell Mead

@ Eddie F: It’s simple. Oxford invited me!

  • Eddie F.

@ WRM: As did we, Prof. Mead! But perhaps technology has failed us. Alas, on your next transatlantic voyage, Cambridge must be part of the itinerary!
